I am shifting my work. I am still playing with recycled materials but in a different way. I have started to make reclaimed jewelry. Some of the things I am playing with are bottlecaps, puzzle pieces, safety pins and recycled costume jewelry. I am working on applying for a few art shows in the spring as well as trying to get my work in some shops and galleries.
On a side note, if anyone has any costume jewelry that they would like to donate to me give me a shout at yesterdays.window@gmail.com. Thanks! Happy Holidays
Yesterday I put seven new faces up. They are all on trees close to each other. Last night it started to rain so I'll see what happened to them overnight.
So it rained all day Thursday. At first my pieces looked good. Changing with the weather. But then the yellow one fell off the tree, which I was expecting. Today I plan to put new pieces up.
Today I went over to look at my piece and found that it was on the ground. I don't know if it fell off because of the wind, a person, or a squirrel. Instead of putting it back on the tree I put it in a bush close to the tree. Maybe it will move everyday because of the wind. The face was a little beat up because of the fall.
Over the past six months I have been experimenting with paper making. I love destroying paper that has been discarded and making it into something new. From there I made a jump to faces. I love the origionality of every persons face. I have taken plaster molds of my friends and family's faces. From there I make paper faces. After months of working I have more paper and faces than I know where to put them. Lately I have become interested in street art. The idea of putting some art object up for the pubic to see. One of the ideas I like with my work as street art is the idea of its destruction. I love the idea of it being changed by people or nature. On my college campus I have decided to put these faces on trees. I plan to check back with my pieces everyday (or at least every other day) and photographically document the changes in my art. Here is the first piece.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art. -Eleanor Roosevelt
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks your wonderful , and don't forget to make some art- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can and I hope, somewhere in the next year you surprise yourself.
